Doesn't the government deserve some credits?
(i'll sound extremely optimistic in this post, hmmms doesnt seem right xD but it IS true! why wont we just APPRECIATE THE WORLD?)

i have been thinking a lot about this! and i thought for a total of 3 days and im finally going to talk about our government! perhaps i may seem weird talking about it, but it just struck me one day. well apprently the singapore government doesnt really leave a good impression on various singaporeans. well im not saying most of the population! but maybe just a small percent of it.

i mean apart from the increasing gst and stuff, shouldnt we appreciate the government? who was the one who brought us out from 'kampongs' and villages and into the new and advanced city? who made us a popular country? well i think singapore's pretty popular? who gave us a decent economy? who gave us our 3 plates of rice everyday?(well perhaps not in the case of extremely poor people, but still! the government tries to ensure decent meals a day for these people, dont they?) why are we complaining about trivial things such as the rising gst and bus fares and whatever. maybe the government is planning for something bigger?

well a politician is no easy job! and to plan five years ahead is even worse! i mean its hard to analyse the current situation and predict a future! just like whats teachers say: we are currently being trained to think and to predict! and its a highest level sort of processing! its no easy thing! we should at least appreciate them?

increasing bus fares? why are we complaining? we do know that the price of petrol is increasing. in order to not deprive people from public transport, there has to be an increase in fares for the refueling. well i dont know about what the bus company does with the money, perhaps they give these earnings to their employees? well if so, shouldnt we think about the bus drivers? they drive for so many hours, constantly thinking about safety on the road since there are at least 10 people on board! shouldnt we reward them a little more? besides its no easy job being a driver! its extremely tiring.

and why is there an increase in gst? well the government is currently trying to prevent a brain drain or whatever they call it. when you think about it, isnt it quite true? what would happen to singapore if all the current "thinkers" are gone? what would happen to our future? if you put yourselves in the shoes of people in philliphine(sp? sorry no offence) or indonesia (well i am kind of referring to the maids coming over to work here), dont they come over to work to support their families back in their hometowns? you see, if the reward is limited, people would tend to go somewhere where there are greater benefits to support. im NOT trying to insult any countries! its just an example ive come up with. NOT trying to offend any countries! hence all these are done to prevent brain drain. (by the way, this was linked because it was said in the newspaper that the government is increasing their salary and probably hence the increase of gst to provide this.) i mean we are already considered okay as compared the other countries whereby their gst is above 10%! we should consider every situation and then make the comparison!

at the end of the day, we are all thinking single sidedly. why not look at both sides of the story? we should be thinking of the reasons rather than thinking about the things that have been done. we should be thinking what lies ahead rather than what was in the past(well not in the case when we learn from our previous mistakes)! we should be looking forward into the future! we should also just appreciate what is given cause we never know when they'll be taken away . we should stop being so self-centered! i admit i am like this sometimes. we should all stop thinking about 'i myself and me'!

the government isnt completely unreasonable. its the perspective of the people that would determine how unreasonable they may seem. if we would just appreciate everything in this world! then we wouldnt even be having global warming or any earth harming things! if we could just be thankful for our own existence, thankful for the gift of life(okay this is just weird coming from me). thankful for what the world has given us(water! it only exists here!) this world is already dying for goodness sakes! why wont we all just come to our senses already?! so much for save the planet! people are still constantly destroying the things our creator(meaning the God in each of our religions) has given. if we dont appreciate what our creator has given, they'll just have to take it away from us! and i'll see who has the last cry when the world EXPLODES! we'll all just DIE!

hmmms. it seems like im drifting away from the main point xD i hope i dont bashed up by some anti-government or some so-what-if-im-self-centered guy or even some litterbug xD! hah! i just hope people would come to their senses soon! well before everything comes to an end, they will know that what they have been doing is wrong and at least redeem themselves before they are gone.

shall end here, i feel a lot of anger talking about how the world is constantly being destroyed. hmmms.
